Tips for a Successful Worship Project

1. Determine the needs of your congregation.
When you decide to take on a building project it is good to gather all the members of your congregation and come up with a common “vision” for the development. Once you gather all the proposals, have a designated group of decision makers to prioritize the ideas that you can later on relate to your design provider.

2. Choose the right building professionals.
Worship constructions may be very different in design and execution from residential or commercial projects. Make sure the building professional you choose has good reputation and experience with these kinds of designs. This will ensure that the design reflects exactly what you and the members of the church want to achieve.

3. Develop a realistic timeframe.
Even if you wish for your building to be up in no time, it may even take anywhere between 6 months to 2 years for a worship building project to be completed.

4. Keep future aspirations in mind.
The needs of your church might change and expand over time. So plan ahead. Ask yourself whether your church will:

  • Expand for schools, offices or recreational centers
  • Need a platform space for future musical/worship opportunities
